12th Serbian Mathematical Congress

About the Congress

The 12th Serbian Mathematical Congress will be held in Novi Sad from 28th August to 2nd September, 2008. The Congress is organized by the Department of Mathematics and Informatics (Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Novi Sad) and the Mathematical Society of Serbia.

Continuing a long standing tradition of congresses of mathematicians in Yugoslavia, and thereafter in Serbia and Montenegro, the 12th Serbian Mathematical Congress represents the central scientific event of the year 2008 in the Republic of Serbia. The meeting has an international character and is open for all fields of mathematics and informatics.

Award for Achievements in Mathematical Sciences

The Award for Achievements in Mathematical Sciences is awarded to Dr. Božidar Jovanović (Matematički Institut, SANU). The awarded lecture titled "Various Aspects of Integrable Systems on Homogenous Spaces" will be held on Sunday, August 31st 2008, at 9:40 (until 10:20) in the "Mihajlo Pupin" amphitheatre at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics and the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad.
